On December 20, 2024, the 12th National Forum on Inclusive Education was successfully held at the Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sports in Kampong Cham Province. Organized under the theme “Innovation in Non-Formal and Inclusive Education,” the forum brought together 155 participants from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, provincial departments, and development partner organizations.
The forum served as an important platform for education stakeholders to share experiences, showcase practical innovations, and discuss ongoing efforts to ensure that all children—especially those with disabilities or facing learning challenges—have access to quality and inclusive education.
Throughout the forum, speakers emphasized the importance of creating learning environments that are inclusive, safe, and supportive. Presentations highlighted progress made in inclusive education across Cambodia, including the expansion of services for children with disabilities and the growing recognition of lifelong learning as a key element of education equity.
Participants also acknowledged existing challenges, including limited resources, capacity gaps, and the need for stronger intersectoral collaboration. The forum concluded with a shared commitment to continue working together across ministries, provincial authorities, and civil society to ensure that no learner is left behind.
The National Forum on Inclusive Education continues to be a valuable annual space for reflection, learning, and coordination. It plays a critical role in advancing the government’s inclusive education goals, aligned with national policies and global commitments such as SDG 4 on Quality Education.
