On April 30, 2025, NEP successfully hosted its 56th EduNetTalk, bringing together educators, advocates, and development partners to discuss the theme: “Promoting Gender and Inclusion to Improve Student Learning Outcomes.”
The session spotlighted both the achievements and persistent challenges in advancing gender equality and building inclusive education environments in Cambodia. A central focus of the discussion was the need for stronger support systems for vulnerable groups, especially students with disabilities, who continue to face structural barriers in accessing quality education.
Key Themes Explored:
Inclusion as a Driver of Learning Outcomes: Panelists emphasized that creating inclusive classrooms is not just a matter of equity but a strategy that improves learning outcomes for all students.
Barriers for Students with Disabilities: The discussion highlighted gaps in teacher training, limited accessibility in school infrastructure, and the lack of tailored learning materials that often prevent students with disabilities from thriving in mainstream education settings.
Gender-Responsive Approaches: The session also explored how gender sensitivity in pedagogy, curriculum, and school culture can help close learning gaps and ensure girls and boys have equal opportunities to succeed.
Collaborative Efforts: Participants underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration—between government, civil society, and communities—to develop inclusive policies and implement them effectively at the school level.
This event served as a timely reminder of the importance of inclusivity in education and the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure that no learner is left behind.
