The NGO Education Partnership (NEP) is set to host the 6th National Conference on Education, a pivotal event that aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and action among key stakeholders in Cambodia’s education sector. As the nation continues its commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4)—ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all—this conference provides a timely opportunity to address pressing challenges and explore transformative solutions.
The conference will take place on 07-08 April 2025, at Factory Phnom Penh. Participants can join the event on
- April 07, 2025, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- April 08, 2025, from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
Cambodia has made significant strides in strengthening its education system, guided by the Education 2030 Roadmap and other strategic frameworks. However, disparities remain, particularly for marginalized groups, children with disabilities, and students in rural communities. These challenges call for a multi-stakeholder approach that prioritizes gender and inclusion, lifelong learning, improved learning outcomes, and safe schools with climate resilience. Building on the outcomes of previous conferences, this year’s gathering will provide an interactive platform where policymakers, educators, and civil society organizations can exchange insights, share best practices, and develop collaborative strategies for a more inclusive and effective education system.
The conference will feature a mix of panel discussions, and expert presentations led by both national and international education specialists. The agenda is designed to encourage evidence-based discussions that highlight real-world solutions and policy recommendations. Participants will gain valuable insights into innovative teaching methods, flexible learning approaches, and community-driven education initiatives that can help address Cambodia’s most pressing educational needs.
NEP welcomes a diverse group of participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS), Provincial and District Offices of Education, civil society organizations, teachers, school directors, development partners, donor agencies, youth representatives, education advocates, and private sector actors engaged in education and skills development. With an anticipated in-person attendance of 200 participants, the conference offers a unique opportunity to network, collaborate, and contribute to shaping national education policies. Whether you are a policymaker, practitioner, or advocate, this is your chance to be part of a crucial discussion that will drive real change in Cambodia’s education system.
The conference will explore four key areas that are critical to Cambodia’s educational progress. Discussions will focus on strengthening gender-sensitive and inclusive education policies to support all learners, including those from marginalized backgrounds. Lifelong learning will be a key theme, emphasizing the need for innovative and flexible learning opportunities for people of all ages to ensure continuous education and skills development. Addressing gaps in literacy, numeracy, and essential competencies, particularly in underserved communities, will also be a priority.
As Cambodia moves forward in shaping a resilient and equitable education system, the conference will tackle pressing questions such as how schools can create lasting improvements in student learning outcomes and what alternative and flexible learning approaches can support out-of-school children. Other critical topics include how early grade learning can be improved through modern and innovative teaching strategies, what policies and practices can ensure high-quality early childhood education, and how parental and community engagement can contribute to a culture of lifelong learning. The conference will also explore what achieving Gender Transformative Education looks like in Cambodia and how it can be realized.
NEP invites all education stakeholders to take part in this significant event. Whether you are a decision-maker, an educator, or an advocate, your insights and contributions are essential in shaping the future of Cambodia’s education system. Join us in driving progress, fostering collaboration, and ensuring quality education for all. We look forward to your participation!
