Meet the Newly Elected Executive Committee of the Working Group on Education and Disability

NEP is pleased to announce the newly elected Executive Committee (ExCom) of the Working Group on Disability and Education (WGED). This dedicated team will lead our efforts in promoting and strengthening special and inclusive education in Cambodia.

Meet Our New ExCom Members:

  • Mr. Yoem Chamnab, Special Education Teaching Specialist, Save the Children – Chair
  • Ms. Song Kunthea, Education Program Manager, HI – Vice-Chair
  • Mr. Yean Ratana, Senior Project Chief, AAR Japan – Member
  • Mr. Nuon Viobl, Inclusive Education Leader, RTI International – Member

Additionally, Khieu Chetra, Executive Director of the NGO Education Partnership (NEP), will serve as the Secretariat of the working group, ensuring smooth coordination and collaboration among stakeholders.

Our Mission and Objectives

The Working Group on Disability and Education is committed to advancing inclusive education for children and people with disabilities in Cambodia. Our key objectives are to:

  •  Support the implementation and monitor progress on policies, strategies, and indicators related to special and inclusive education, especially those aligned with SDG 4 and the Education Strategic Plan (ESP).
  • Strengthen the capacity of members and key stakeholders at both local and national levels to effectively address challenges related to inclusive education, children with disabilities, and out-of-school children. 
  • Represent civil society organizations working in the field of special and inclusive education, with NEP as the secretariat, to support and collaborate with the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS).
