NEP colleagues recently joined the ASPBAE 9th General Assembly Regional Strategic Planning Workshop and 60th Anniversary Celebration, held from November 25 to 28, 2024, in Da Nang, Vietnam. The event brought together education coalitions, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders across Asia and the Pacific to deliberate on pressing issues in education and shape ASPBAE’s strategic directions for 2025–2028.
Under the theme “60 Years of Learning and Acting Together: For a Peaceful, Inclusive, Gender-Just and Climate-Ready Future for All”, participants engaged in sessions that addressed gender justice, climate resilience, and the inclusion of marginalized communities. The event also spotlighted achievements in advancing quality education, youth empowerment, and adult learning.
Highlights included keynote speeches, breakout sessions on transformative policy frameworks, and a celebration of ASPBAE’s rich history. NEP representatives contributed actively, sharing insights from Cambodia’s education landscape while gaining valuable regional perspectives to inform their advocacy and programs.
The gathering underscored the importance of collaborative action to meet the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG4, and further solidified NEP’s role in regional education advocacy efforts
