The KIX EMAP Hub is pleased to announce Webinar 22, an engaging virtual discussion focused on the transformative potential of education technology (EdTech) in the South Asia, Middle East, and North Africa (SAMENA) sub-region. This webinar will take place on Wednesday, 04 December 2024, and will feature live interpretation in Arabic.
The webinar will bring together policymakers, educators, researchers, and EdTech innovators to explore how technology is reshaping education across SAMENA. As countries in these regions scale up digital education infrastructure, they aim to address two critical goals: ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities and fostering digital skills essential for economic development.
While national agendas vary, shared priorities emerge across SAMENA, including equitable access to EdTech, teacher training, and partnerships with technology firms. However, persistent challenges remain. Infrastructure gaps leave rural and underserved areas without internet connectivity or adequate digital tools. Many educators and students lack the necessary digital skills, and ensuring the sustainability of EdTech initiatives—through long-term funding and support—remains a hurdle.
This webinar aims to address these challenges while spotlighting the opportunities that EdTech presents. Key speakers from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Bangladesh, Egypt, and Tunisia will share insights on:
- Current EdTech trends and innovative solutions across SAMENA,
- Challenges and opportunities in integrating technology into education,
- Best practices for sustainable implementation of EdTech in education systems.
