Youth Petition Calls for Transformative Climate Education Across All Subjects

A new petition is gaining momentum as youth around the world call on their governments to adapt climate education. The petition advocates for a transformative approach, urging that climate education move beyond the science lab and become interdisciplinary and action-oriented. It emphasizes the need for climate themes to be integrated across all subjects and grade levels, starting from early childhood, to ensure that every learner is equipped to address climate challenges.

Supported by the GEM Report, the MECCE project, Take Action Global, and Earth Guardians, the petition reflects a shared belief that understanding the science of climate change must be paired with learning how to be part of the solution. This initiative aims to mobilize the full potential of climate education for lasting global impact.
