A total of 73 members, including 26 women, from education-focused Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across 15 cities and provinces gathered for the 3rd Education Champion Leader Meeting.
Representatives from Kandal, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, Kampot, Kep, Kratie, Takeo, Battambang, Muldulkiri, Ratanakiri, Siem Reap, Svay Rieng, and Phnom Penh attended the event. These CSOs work on various themes, including Early Childhood Care and Development, Primary Education, Education and Disability, Non-Formal Education, School Reform, and Teacher Capacity Development. The meeting featured several key activities, including an orientation on Primary School Standards 1 & 2, which focus on students’ learning outcomes and teaching-learning processes. Updates were shared from six thematic working groups, and representatives from Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Cham, and Mundulkiri presented their learnings on monitoring structures and advocacy efforts. The meeting also included a consultation session to gather input for the upcoming Education Sector Working Group (ESWG) Meeting, as well as a discussion on a policy brief aimed at improving learning outcomes through strengthened school reform policies. This event provided a crucial platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning to enhance education in the represented regions.
