The application and nomination process for the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes is now open. This year’s theme is “Promoting multilingual education: Literacy for mutual understanding and peace.” Applicants are encouraged to align their submissions with this theme and consider the specific focuses of the two prizes.
Member States and International Non-Governmental Organizations maintaining official relations with UNESCO are invited to solicit and submit nominations.
The application process consists of two stages: application and nomination.
Eligibility Criteria:
– Institutions, organizations, and individuals promoting literacy through effective and innovative programs.
– Programs must be currently operational and have a proven record of innovative work in literacy for at least two years.
– Programs that have not received the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes in the past five years are eligible.
