The Global Action Week for Education 2024 saw a global surge in activism, as thousands rallied worldwide for transformative education and the right to learn. In Nepal, over 10,000 advocates united across 50 provinces, engaging in street demonstrations and dialogues with governments. Latin American education movements convened in plazas and book fairs, spreading the message of transformative education in public systems.
GAWE 2024 discussions spotlighted the recommendations of the High-Level Panel on the Teaching Profession, sparking actions to revolutionize teaching. From local to international levels, diverse events amplified GCE’s calls for transformative education, thanks to the unwavering dedication of its members and partners.
GCE’s advocacy for transformative education remains steadfast, complementing campaigns on decolonizing education financing, education in emergencies, equity and inclusion, and more. With resounding persistence, GCE will continue to advocate for systemic transformation in education and push for substantive inclusion in the Summit of the Future sessions and Pact for the Future.
