This brief notes the various kinds of risks and impacts triggered by the
pandemic, especially in relation to school closures. It studies some key
approaches governments took to respond to the pandemic, and recognises some of the better ways in which some countries were able
to meet children’s needs. This brief also looks at some lessons to inform
how governments and societies can build back better from the pandemic
and reduce both the risk and impact of such crises in the future.
