Guideline on Career Guidance and Counseling for Upper Secondary Education (2018)

This guideline was developed as part of Cambodia’s education reform efforts to strengthen career guidance services in upper secondary schools. It provides a structured framework to help students explore their academic interests, identify career paths, and prepare for life after school. The approach emphasizes student-centered support through career exploration, planning, and decision-making.

The guideline introduces a career counseling process model designed to help students better understand themselves, their interests and abilities, and the opportunities available to them. It highlights the role of teacher-counselors in facilitating this process and supporting students in aligning their education with their career goals.

The content is divided into four key parts:

  • Part 1: Academic Skills (Grade 10)

  • Part 2: Career Planning (Grade 11)

  • Part 3: Life Skills (Grade 12)
