Cambodian 5th grade student learning achievement 2024 Southeast Asian primary learning metrics

Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM) is a regional assessment initiative by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). It’s supported by UNICEF EAPRO and UNICEF Cambodia, with technical assistance from the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). It focuses on reading, writing, mathematics and global citizenship in 5th Grade. Round 1 was conducted in 2019 with 6 countries including Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Vietnam and round 2 was conducted in 2024, including the previous members plus Timor-Leste (new member but its result was not released for regionally).

 

SEA-PLM aims to

1) strengthen capacity for assessment administration and data analysis,

2) reinforce the use assessment data to improve education systems and promote equitable learning outcomes and

3) enhance regional and global cooperation.
