A Warm Welcome to KPY Cambodia

At the NGO Education Partnership (NEP), we are delighted to welcome Koampia Phum Yoeung (KPY) as one of our newest members. Headquartered in Phnom Penh, with four sub-offices located within the branches of Phillip Bank in Takéo, Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, and Kampong Speu provinces, KPY is a bold and passionate organization bringing heart, hands-on experience, and a deep-rooted commitment to improving education, child protection, and community well-being in Cambodia. Their membership doesn’t just expand our network—it strengthens our collective voice advocating for a more inclusive, equitable, and accountable education system.

KPY’s decision to join NEP was led by its Executive Director, who previously engaged with NEP during his time with RTI International. That experience left a powerful impression: NEP is not just a platform—it’s a driver of change. “NEP builds strong, independent networks among NGOs and CSOs,” he shared. “It gives us collective power to raise our voices and push for real accountability from duty bearers and policymakers at the national level.”

For KPY, collaboration is core to their mission. As a member of NEP, they bring with them a strong belief in partnership as a foundation for impact. “We want to share best practices, build stronger relationships with government stakeholders, and address the persistent education challenges we all face,” said Mr. Chan Sokkhy, the KPY Executive Director. “Together, we can influence national policy, empower local communities, and contribute meaningfully to achieving Cambodia’s education goals and the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Koampia Phum Yoeung (KPY) is a multi-sector organization working across child rights and protection, education, agriculture and income generation, financial literacy, and environmental sustainability. Their education efforts are particularly inspiring—focused on improving school standards, enhancing teacher capacity, promoting classroom hygiene and sanitation, and fostering inclusive learning environments. In rural areas where educational challenges are often compounded by poverty and limited resources, KPY is making a tangible difference. They’re not just implementing programs—they’re transforming systems and uplifting futures.

KPY’s vision and work reflect exactly the kind of leadership that strengthens NEP’s mission. Their ability to connect grassroots realities with national-level advocacy makes them a valuable addition to our collective effort to ensure that every Cambodian child receives quality, inclusive education.

When asked whether they would recommend NEP to other education-focused organizations, KPY’s response was clear: “Absolutely.” Because NEP is more than a membership—it’s a movement. A movement where civil society comes together to reimagine education, advocate with one voice, and create real impact for future generations.

If your organization is ready to level up its impact, amplify its voice, and collaborate with a trusted community of education advocates, now is the time to join NEP.
