The study “Gender Gap Reversal in Learning and Gender-Responsive Teaching in Cambodia” examines Cambodia’s efforts to achieve gender equality in education over the past two decades. It highlights progress in girls’ access to education and academic performance, but also highlights challenges such as underperformance of boys due to socioeconomic pressures, cultural expectations, and digital devices. The report emphasizes the importance of gender-responsive pedagogy (GRP) in addressing these disparities but it also highlights inconsistencies in implementation. It recommends targeted policies and teacher professional development programs to improve GRP and foster inclusive learning environments.
