Neary Rattanak VI is a key strategic plan developed by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA) to promote gender equality across all sectors in Cambodia. Shaped through consultations with government ministries, development partners, civil society organizations, and sub-national representatives, it reflects the nation’s commitment to gender equity in alignment with global frameworks such as the Cambodian Sustainable Development Goals and the Beijing Declaration. The plan outlines 41 key interventions that focus on empowering women in leadership, enhancing access to education, health, and economic opportunities, and addressing gender-based violence. Neary Rattanak VI also sets the foundation for the National Policy on Gender Equality, the first of its kind in Cambodia, which will promote gender-responsive governance and foster social transformation. MoWA will submit this landmark policy for government approval in 2024, further solidifying Cambodia’s commitment to gender equality.
