Since 1980, Cambodia’s curriculum has undergone four major revisions to better meet national and global demands. Initially focused on basic education, recent analyses highlighted issues like content gaps and lack of real-world relevance, especially in math and science. In response, the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport developed a modern curriculum framework that emphasizes essential life skills, international languages, and ICT. Drawing inspiration from regional models like Singapore and Malaysia, it promotes consistency, inclusivity, and market alignment. Through extensive stakeholder consultation, Cambodia aims to cultivate a skilled workforce to drive sustainable development and achieve its 2030 and 2050 economic goals.
