Civil Society Organization (CSO) Mapping Report

The Civil Society Organization (CSO) Mapping Reportfor Cambodia’s education sector has provided valuable insights into the role of CSOs and NGOs in four provinces: Battambang, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, and Oddor Meanchey. This study highlights the crucial contributions of these organizations in supporting educational development and sector reforms. By mapping key stakeholders, decision-making processes, and operational structures, the study identifies both challenges and opportunities in areas such as education financing, capacity gaps, and resource distribution in 2023.

The report builds on the 2021 NGO Education Partnership Study, offering updated findings on how CSOs and NGOs are contributing to sustainable and inclusive education. Through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, the study also explores the partnerships, policy conversations, and innovations driving these organizations. The results emphasize the potential for NGOs to enhance their capacity in education service delivery, infrastructure development, and teacher training, all while fostering stronger community engagement.

With significant opportunities for growth, the report outlines key areas for further support, including technical and vocational education, non-formal education, and equality in educational planning. By strengthening internal governance and accountability, NGOs can play an even more vital role in promoting inclusive, community-based education reform in Cambodia.
