This email is to inform NEP Members of the upcoming NEP Gender Assessment, which will be carried out by team from NGO-CEDAW.
|
NGO-CEDAW is Cambodia's leading coalition dedicated to monitoring and promoting the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The work of NGO-CEDAW also includes research, advocacy, awareness-raising, capacity-building, and information exchange.

NGO-CEDAW will assist NEP members in gender integration by adopting a comprehensive organizational gender policy, through initial assessment (survey) of gender mainstreaming practices in member organization, development of a gender mainstreaming policy and plan for the NEP membership, and conducting training to implement it.

The team contains of three expert staff members of NGO-CEDAW.

Chim Channeang: She is the general secretary (executive director) of NGO-CEDAW and her work has focused specifically on promoting women’s rights and gender equality in Cambodia for 15 years. She will lead this project and be involved in all processes, including facilitating the gender mainstreaming training to NEP’s members.

Dana Wallack: She is the legal specialist and program advisor of NGO-CEDAW, where she has worked for 8 years. She will co-facilitate the training on gender mainstreaming.

Vann Chankanha: She has been working as project officer of NGO-CEDAW for more than 3 years and will be involved in this project by developing the online platform used in the assessment, communication and follow-up with NEP members related to their participation in the assessment, data collection, translation of data and other materials, and providing logistical support for the training.
