The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will take place from 8 July to 18 July 2024, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. This year’s theme is “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions.” The focus will be on SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals.
To coordinate global efforts, the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), in partnership with the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG), is organizing an Information Webinar on HLPF 2024 on June 21 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM South Africa Standard Time.
The webinar aims to share information with GCE members about HLPF 2024, discuss the engagement of Major Groups, especially the EASG, inform on youth and student participation in the HLPF, and update members on the VNR process and upcoming side events on Spotlight Reports.
