NEP recently hosted its 45th EDUNETTALK on April 30, 2024, which was broadcast live on NEP-Cambodia’s Facebook page. The event featured esteemed guest speakers including government representatives, Development Partners, and national and international NGOs, with an experienced moderator facilitating the discussion via Zoom. Among the distinguished speakers were H.E. Dr. Nath Bunroeun, Secretary of State, MoEYS, Mr. Khieu Chetra, NEP Executive Director, Mr. Sain Kimlong, Education Officer, UNICEF and moderated by Mr. Son Nat, Executive Director of Teacher Development Support Organization.
The online discussion aimed to provide a platform for civil society organizations and the Royal Government to delve into key topics, recent research findings, new policies, strategic plans, action plans, progress, and challenges in the field of education in Cambodia. Through the live broadcast, audience members had the opportunity to pose questions to the guest speakers on the topics under discussion.
Given MOEYS’ recent organization of the Annual Congress for the 2022-2023 school year and planning for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, the April talk show focused on the theme of “Key Progresses Achievements and Challenges for 2022-2023 School Year and Key Responses for the 2023-2024 School Year based on the MOEYS Annual Congress in April 2024”.
The 45th EduNetTalk online event aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the significant points presented at the congress and foster dialogue between MoEYS and Development Partners. This discussion sought to enhance public awareness of the current state of education in Cambodia, the challenges being addressed, and the future directions outlined by MoEYS. It also aimed to offer valuable insights into the role of development partners in supporting the advancement of education.
Key discussion points included:
– Reviewing the main achievements and progress of the education sector in the 2022-2023 school year as outlined in the Education Congress.
– Examining the challenges facing the education sector in Cambodia and identifying the key strategies and plans outlined by MoEYS for the 2023-2024 school year.
– Facilitating open discussion among MoEYS, development partners, and the public on how to attain the educational goals set for Cambodia.
