Teachers’ Day: Kampot Students Express Gratitude to Teachers 

On November 1, 2023, the Kampot Provincial Education Working Group (ESWG) organized a forum for Preah Norodom Ranariddh High School students to express their gratitude to their teachers. The forum also served as an opportunity for the ESWG to introduce key concepts related to education quality, teacher quality, school health education policy, and inclusive education.

Key Concepts Identified at the Forum: 

  • Need for more support from stakeholders in the education sector: The forum identified a need for more support from stakeholders in the education sector to promote the quality of teaching and learning, as well as the effective implementation of school health policies and inclusive education.
  • Need to change the positive attitude of teachers: The forum also highlighted the need to change the positive attitude of teachers in improving the teaching profession.
  • Need to improve the qualifications of teachers: the need to improve the qualifications of teachers and their understanding of the implementation of school health policy and inclusive education.
  • Need to strengthen cooperation between the education authorities and civil society organizations: the forum emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the education authorities and civil society organizations to improve the quality of education, the implementation of health education policies, and inclusive education.

During the forum, students expressed their gratitude to their teachers for their dedication and hard work. They shared stories of how their teachers have helped them to learn and grow, both academically and personally.

The forum was attended by all stakeholders, including the representatives from Teuk Chhou District Office of Education, Youth, and Sports; the Chief of Koun Sat Commune Council; the village chiefs; representatives of civil society organizations; directors of school management; teachers; parents; representatives of students with disabilities; and high school students.

The ESWG is committed to improving the quality of education in Kampot Province. The forum was a valuable opportunity to engage with stakeholders and to identify key areas for improvement. The ESWG will continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure that all students in Kampot Province have access to a quality education.
