The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in Cambodia has advised the public schools to take the following additional measures to ensure a smooth transition to the new school year:
- The school year ends on the 20th of November, 2023
- All the school principals must prepare the final exams and calculate the end-of-year results (2022-2023)
- All the school principles and teachers must prepare the new enrolment campaign for the upcoming school year for students age 6years or 70 months (at least by 1st of December 2023) and they must prepare for students advancing from grade 6 to grade 7.
- The school principal and the teachers must prepare a list of students who fail the class, those who will not advance to the next grade, those who have dropped out, and those who transfer in from another school. This list must be completed between the 15th of November and the 30th of November with the support of the school committees, school principals, authorities, parents, and guardians.
- The upcoming school year will commence on the 1st of December, 2023
- The MoEYS will be announcing the upcoming year’s standards and plans soon.
