The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports in Cambodia is currently developing the next Strategic Plan for the years 2024-2029.
As part of this process, the NGO Educational Partner (NEP) is conducting an assessment of the previous Strategic Plan (2019-2023) to identify interventions that have helped marginalized groups, such as poor individuals, ethnic minorities, migrants, persons with disabilities, youth, and children, in accessing high-quality education.
The NEP is an NGO that represents the voices of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the education sector. To ensure that the voices and perspectives of marginalized communities and learners in Kampong Cham are effectively represented in this assessment, the NEP has established a working group dedicated to collecting inputs from these groups. The working group will engage with relevant CSOs, conduct outreach activities, collect and analyze data, and consolidate the inputs and findings into a comprehensive report. The report will be presented to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and other stakeholders to advocate for the inclusion of these inputs in the development of the next Strategic Plan.
This initiative is crucial in ensuring that the specific needs and challenges faced by marginalized communities and learners in Kampong Cham are taken into account in the development of an inclusive and equitable education system. By engaging with these communities and learners, the NEP Working Group can identify successful interventions that have improved access to education for these groups in the past and recommend strategies for improving access to education in the future.
