NEP is conducting an inquiry to collect inputs from marginalized communities and learners on access to education in Battambang province

In Battambang, NEP is conducting an inquiry to collect inputs from marginalized communities and learners on access to education.

The purpose of the consultation workshop is to identify evidence-based examples of policy interventions of implementation of the education sector plan 2019-2023 that reached youths, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, out-of-school children, migrants, and women and girls.

The consultation workshop will also carry out consultations with marginalized groups and activists to democratize dialogue around education sector plan development and develop recommendations from each target marginalized group to inform advocacy for improved policy implementation on provincial and national levels.

The expected outcome of the consultation workshop is to develop a consolidated report including recommendations and best practices to be shared with development partners and the Department of Policy and Planning (MOEYS) to ensure ESP 2024-2028 carried interventions aimed at serving underprivileged communities and learners. The NGO Education Partnership (NEP) is responsible for consolidating and informing the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports on the inputs gathered from CSOs and marginalized groups.

Overall, the NEP working group’s efforts to collect inputs from marginalized communities and learners on access to education in Battambang province are crucial for ensuring that the education sector plan is inclusive and serves underprivileged communities and learners.

The consultation workshop’s expected outcome of developing a consolidated report including recommendations and best practices will help inform advocacy for improved policy implementation on provincial and national levels.
