A Consultation Meeting among SEST Members to Identify Priority Issues for a Joint Advocacy Plan

On November 21, 2022, TDSO and SEST members conducted a half-day consultation meeting in Siem Reap to kick-start a project titled ‘Promoting accesses to quality and inclusive education for all through public advocacy campaigns for improving schools, students, and teachers.’ Joint by 25 participants, meeting was started with an introduction to the project as well as the advocacy knowledge sharing presented by TDSO representative. The meeting saw a fruitful result as participants engaged actively in the discussion on prioritizing issues that most concerning students and teachers in the area. After the meeting, small working groups have been created in order to work on the selected topics/ issues.

‘Promoting accesses to quality and inclusive education for all through public advocacy campaigns for improving schools, students, and teachers’ is a 3-years project to be implemented in 3 provinces – Siem Reap, Kampot and Ratanakiri that designed to scale up support to Cambodian civil society advocacy efforts to promote quality and inclusive education through capacity development, mobilizing collective action, democratic process, and advocacy campaign.

This proposal also includes a conceptually new direction in CSO coordination and development towards raising awareness of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and other forms of vulnerability and widening advocacy spectrum.
